Tripod Beta Accreditation
Summery & Objectives
The Stichting Tripod Foundation, the quality controlling body for Tripod, defined a
certification system for Tripod Beta users (practitioners), trainers and assessors. All
practitioner and trainer accreditation is done through AdviSafe. All
future practitioners and trainers have to go through the accreditation process as
established. No alterations in the process and/or sequence of activities will be permitted.
No other organisations are acknowledged by the Stichting Tripod Foundation to accredit
practitioners or trainers. The third level, Tripod Assessor is on invitation of the STF only.

A Tripod Beta Practitioner investigates and analyses incidents using the Tripod Theory of
incident causation. Accordingly, this person must be competent in the understanding of
the Tripod Beta methodology and also its application when investigating and analysing
incidents. When these competencies have been satisfactorily assessed, the person is said
to be an “Accredited Tripod Beta practitioner”.
There are no prerequisites to start the Tripod Beta practitioner process. The practitioner
accreditation scheme consists of 2 phases, which must be completed in chronological
order:
Phase 1: Tripod Beta written knowledge assessment
Phase 2: Elaborate two different Tripod Beta incident analyses
Participants receive a certificate on completion.
