HMI: Head Mining Installation

Summary & Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable prospective and incumbent candidates for the position of HMI or deputy to implement and practice the procedures required to manage off/onshore installations and improve on their leadership skills.

This training is not only meant for people that function occasionally or permanently work as Head Mining installation. Communication between the HMI and his supervisor is essential. Therefore the deputy HMI’s , Senior Plant Technicians, Installation Supervisors will also be involved in (part) of the program.

The training consists of 4 days (1 day practical outdoor exercises and 3 days theoretical/underpinning knowledge). Eventually followed by a trajectory of 6 months where candidates will be coached in supervisory and communication skills and other personal points of attention.

The candidates will receive information related to the latest legislation and regulation of the Dutch Oil & Gas industry. Reference will be made to practical experiences of colleague HMI’s. This will result in mutual understanding for each other’s operational problems and becoming acquainted with each other’s possibilities and limits with regards to finding a solution for those problems. Because of that they will improve as a team. Under the guidance of our trainers, you will use competency maps in Leadership and Management to assess yourself in the major skill areas before and after the seminar.
