Tripod Beta
Product summary
The Tripod method facilitates the investigation and analysis of operational disturbances in order to prevent their recurrence. The strength of the Tripod Beta method lies in the identification of the underlying causes in the organization that contributed to the operational disturbance, instead of focusing on just the immediate causes. In this way, attention is redirected from those directly involved in the incident, to the organizational failings. In most cases those directly involved are simply innocent bystanders to multiple factors coming together on that one moment, leading to the incident.

Features
The Tripod Beta software enables the investigation and analysis team to store, structure and analyse the identified facts. Based on the analysis, which is made visible in a Tripod Beta Tree, the Immediate and Underlying Causes are easily identified and shared with the organisation. In this way, the organisation is able to adequately manage its Underlying Causes and decrease the likelihood of future incidents. In particular, the software Tripod ß V4:
- Collects all facts used during the investigation and analysis. Missing or non-relevant information is identified.
- Gives advice during the incident analysis. The 'model advisor' checks the analysis against the logic requirements of the Tripod Theory.
- Displays the incident in an understandable Tripod Beta Tree, supporting communication and discussion on the incident.
- Generates a concise and standardised report.
