Safety Officer

Job discription

The safety officer is the direct representative of the client on site. He is accountable to the site management and the HSEQ department of a client. The scope of work for this position is to monitor the follow-up of any requirements of the client as instructed to them or described in the client’s safety management programs.

Duties

Duties include:

  • Preparation and delivery of safety briefings towards personnel and contractors;
  • Development of job safety analyses and risk assessments;
  • Developing , conducting and registering toolbox meetings;
  • Developing and implementing emergency procedures;
  • Reporting of incidents and non-conformities;
  • Performing site HSE inspections, audits and surveys;
  • Acting as a team leader when more safety personnel are on-site (for example, fireguards ).
