Fire and safety guards

Job discription

Differing from the traditional reactive fire watcher, the fire & safety guard has a pro-active approach towards his activities.

Duties include:

Supervising of personnel during high risk jobs;
Monitoring the execution of safe systems of work (SOP, TRA and PTW);
Performing atmospheric testing ( EX/OX/TOX);
Inspecting of tools and equipment to ensure they are fit for purpose and certification is correct and up to date;
Supervising of lifting jobs, enclosed spaces entry and hot work;
Reactive actions during medical and fire emergencies;
Reporting of incidents and non-conformities to his designated supervisor;
Suspending work when the situation dictates this.
